Dear delegate,

It is with regret that we have found it necessary to cancel the dinner on 4th November at Stationers’ Hall. Unfortunately the take up was not sufficient to continue with the dinner. Part of the problem being the current climate which couldn’t be foreseen when we embarked on this program. A full refund of your ticket(s) is forth coming.

On behalf of Apsley Paper Trail we do thank you for your support, and it is our intention to reconvene the event during next year. We believe that the volume production of paper by mechanical means at the turn of 19th Century was  brought about by the trades of The Stationers Company, through its network of printers, publishers, booksellers, and stationery suppliers demanding more paper and finally the inventive papermakers who delivered.  Stationers’ Company members such as Andrew Strahan, John Dickinson, George Longman and others supported arguably the greatest achievement of The Stationers Company, to create such volumes of paper to satisfy eventually the global growth of the printed word. Surely a worthy celebration.

Warm regards,

John
