The Apsley Paper Trail charitable trust operates The Paper Trail Project at its two sites, Apsley Mills and Frogmore Mill. The project is run on a not-for-profit basis with the profits from all activities returned to the Trust in order to support the development and expansion of the project as a whole. This takes a lot of work and if you think you can help, please let us know.
Apart from visitor activities which are being constantly expanded, the project is also involved in paper production, education, retail and small business lettings. These activities are managed and operated by a small, dedicated team of permanent staff together with a group of enthusiastic volunteers.
We are always looking for new volunteers and have a wide range of opportunities for many skills or interests. Where we have the need of particular skills from volunteers, typically tour guides, workshop assistants, DIY skills and gardening; but also many, many more.
Frogmore Paper Mill is a place like no other to volunteer. It is a lovely location by the water, with friendly staff and no two days the same. However as a tour guide we are looking for people for specific roles but willingness to 'muck in' is always appreciated.
The atmosphere is relaxed, though actually that can belie that we can be frantically busy!
As a charity, heritage site it is important that Frogmore Mill gains funding from grants. The site receives no government funding which is why it is imperative that we successfully apply for it through other sources. The main visitor centre was created through a heritage lottery grant which transformed the old waste paper sheds into a comfortable hub for visitors, however it is necessary that we revitalise the entire mill to ensure the longevity of Frogmore Mill’s life.
Manage Frogmore Paper Mill Archive to ensure the safe preservation, cataloguing and access to all types of records and documents including, diary's, photographs, film, video, vehicle records and on-line digital records and assist with research enquiries.
Here at Frogmore mill we conduct tours for the general public and booked groups. This is vital front of house opportunity which means that it is essential that you are comfortable speaking in front of small groups and able to relay information that you have gained through other tours.
We require 3 types of fundraiser to help us build Frogmore Paper Mill into what it is destined to be - the national centre for paper. We need a Fundraising Information Researcher, A Local Fundraiser and a Corporate Fundraiser. Could one fo these be you?
