Mill Visits & Events

Frogmore Mill is the very heart of The Paper Trail project and the 'jewel in its crown'. So why is this site so unique? - It was at Frogmore that the world's first machine for making a continuous roll of paper was built (the birth of paper's industrial revolution).

Frogmore Mill

The primary objective of The Paper Trail is to conserve and restore Frogmore as a working paper mill using a 'Fourdrinier' paper machine which dates back to 1895 and to make this unique industrial heritage accessible to the public.

A tour round Frogmore Mill is fascinating it is almost like walking back in time to the Victorian era.

Frogmore Paper Mill & Visitor Centre is open to the public on Monday to Thursday 10.30 to 4.30pm, and occasional Sundays (telephone for dates). Group Tours and Schools are by prior arrangement only. In the warmer months tours can also include a trip along the River Gade and Grand Union Canal on our own boat, the Bryan Donkin (this is dependent on group numbers and availability).

Visitors must be aware that this heritage attraction is an industrial site and there are some uneven floors and lying water - so high heels are a definite no no!
